Her coverage includes San Diego's world-renowned life science sector, its growing technology scene, venture capital activity and publicly traded companies, such as Qualcomm and Illumina. Rocha was named Small Business Journalist of the Year by the local Small Business Association for her coverage of the small business community. Previously, she covered the region's biotech sector and managed special projects for the San Diego Business Journal. She first dove into business reporting as a Dow Jones News Fund intern at Fortune Magazine in New York City.
