Preview: San Ysidro has won six of its last seven games. Armann Robles leads the Cougars, hitting .304 with 3 HRs and 24 RBIs. Jorge Baez had 19 RBIs as does Axel Reyes. Marco Hernandez pitched the Cougars into the title game, so Carlos Gomez, who is 5-5, and Antonio Soto, who is 6-3, are ready to start the title game. … Mt. Carmel has won four in a row. The Sundevils are led by Bryce Miller, who is hitting .330 with seven HRs and 28 RBIs. Chase Mendoza has 16 RBIs, Nate Godbold 15 and Kelle Leuck has driven in 13 with 11 doubles. Jack Grassa pitched the Sundevils into the title game, so Shane Carter, who is 7-0, Isaiah Reese, who is 6-5, and Isaac Reese, who is 4-3, are available. … San Ysidro won the Division 3 title in 2013. Mt. Carmel is 3-4 in championship games, last winning in 1987. The last championship appearance was a Division 4 loss in 2919.

Preview: After losing Tuesday, Henry rebounded to beat Eastlake 2-0 Wednesday to get into the title game. The Patriots are led by Ian Brooke, who has 29 RBIs,Tyson Bobo, who has 24 and Preston Conklin, who has 17. Cody Cappelletti, who is committed to Saint Mary’s, is Henry’s do-everything player. Cappelletti was the winning pitcher Wednesday, so junior Brady Gunn, who is 6-1, figures to get the start against Granite Hills. … Granite Hills is shooting to become the first team in San Diego Section history to go through the regular season and the playoffs unbeaten. The Eagles are loaded with college commits, including Brenden Lewis (Arizona State), Trevor Smith (Washington State), Tommy Entrekin (Cal Baptist), Luke Bailey (UC Santa Barbara) and Parker Vance (Southern Utah). Bailey, who is 11-0 with a 1.15 ERA, figures to get the start. … Patrick Henry is 2-3 in title games. The team’s last appearance was a Division 1 loss in 2023. … Granite Hills is 6-2 in championship games. The last was a Division 1 title in 2021. … Henry and Granite Hills played twice this season.
