Tirso Ornelas, Yonathan Perlaza and Trenton Brooks all hit home runs, backing five innings of one-run ball from left-hander Jackson Wolf in a 9-5 win at Sacramento on Tuesday.

Wolf (1-0, 3.48 ERA) struck out nine and scattered two hits and three walks in the start. The one run scored on a home run.

Right-hander Bryan Hoeing struck out a batter, walked two and allowed a hit but did not give up a run in his first Triple-A rehab appearance.

Brooks (.926 OPS) drove in two runs on four hits, which including his ninth home run.

Ornelas (.749 OPS) drove in four runs on two hits, including a double and his second home run.

Perlaza’s home run was his fourth of the season.

El Paso is 26-26.

 

 

Tuesday’s scoreboard

HIGH SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (23-23)

Great Lakes 4, TinCaps 1: SS Leo De Vries (.835 OPS) went 1-for-4 with a walk. CF Kai Roberts (.546 OPS) went 1-for-5 with a double. RHP Ian Koenig (1-3, 6.67 ERA) allowed four runs in five innings in the start. RHP Josh Mallitz (5.74 ERA) struck out five over three scoreless innings.

 

LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (20-26)

Storm 3, Stockton 0: RHP Will Varmette (2-2, 5.92 ERA) struck out four over six shutout innings in the win. He walked one and allowed one hit. The Storm’s only hits were singles from CF Kasen Wells (.756 OPS), 3B Zach Evans (.810 OPS), 2B Yendry Rojas (.620 OPS) and RF Colton Vincent (.488 OPS).

 

ROOIE ACL PADRES (5-14)

Dodgers 11, Padres 10: LF Eguy Rosario (.491 OPS) went 1-for-6 with two RBIs. C Jesus Castro (.777 OPS) drove in two runs on two hits and CF Donte Grant (.680 OPS) went 2-for-3 with a doble, an RBI, a walk and three runs scored. 2B Ismael Javier (.534 OPS) also had a double.

 

Note: Double-A San Antonio’s game at Arkansas was rained out. The Missions will play a doubleheader on Wednesday.
