Re “Paul Baribault out as president and CEO of San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance” (March 26): I am appalled that Baribault had his compensation explode from $820,768 to $1.86 million in the span of three years — more than a $1 million increase! That is gross negligence on the part of nonprofit board who would approve such ridiculous amounts, especially in the midst of a global pandemic.  Yes, he “furthered the mission, and helped build the reputation,” but wasn’t that his job? And we don’t know what the amount was for 2024!
