The first official day of Comic-Con International starts on Thursday, July 20, with a Paramount Pictures Hall H takeover and some big TV shows on hand at the San Diego Convention Center.
It’s unclear exactly who will be there for big s, considering there is a writer strike and actor strike possibly coming, but several studios appear to be going ahead with promotions anyway. The biggest will be Paramount Pictures in Hall H with its new animated film, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.”
Comic-Con on the cheap? Here are some ways to save money
Prime Video’s fantasy epic “The Wheel of Time” will be there with the full cast, Amazon said, as well as the cast of “Jury Duty.” Likely another big draw will be a presentation by creators of the highly anticipated “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” video game from Insomniac Games.

Lego DreamZzz
Learn all about LEGO DreamZzz, a new content IP that launched in May. Max Original Animation
Max Original Animation celebrates new and returning animated series, including an expansion in the Adventure Time universe, “Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake”; a new animated series, “Young Love,” based on the characters from Matthew A. Cherry and Sony Pictures Animation’s Oscar-winning animated short, “Hair Love”; and a preview of the fourth season for the fan-favorite Harley Quinn. The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) takes a behind-the-scenes look at how the beloved Pokémon animated series is localized from its original Japanese version to one of the most popular series enjoyed by international audiences. John Romita, Jr.
Come meet famed Spider-Man artist John Romita Jr.! John began his career with a six-page story entitled “Chaos at the Coffee Bean!” in The Amazing Spider-Man Annual (1977). His early popularity began with his run on Iron Man with writer David Michelinie and artist Bob Layton, in 1978. The creative team introduced several ing characters, including Tony Stark’s bodyguard girlfriend Bethany Cabe and rival industrialist Justin Hammer. In the early 1980s, he had his first regular run on the series The Amazing Spider-Man and in 2022 he returned to the book. Room 25ABC, 1-2 p.m.
Tegan and Sara
Indie-pop twin-sister duo Tegan and Sara discuss their contemporary middle-grade graphic novel “Tegan and Sara: Junior High,” which explores growing up, coming out, and finding yourself through music and sisterhood. Tegan and Sara will discuss translating the junior high experience to the page, setting the book in the present day, their experiences coming out and growing up, the first steps of their musical journey, and the audio adaptation of Junior High, which features narration from the authors, original re-creations of their junior high demos, and lush sound design. The Wheel of Time
The Wheel continues to turn at Comic-Con, as the cast of Prime Video’s hit series “The Wheel of Time” gives a sneak peek into the highly anticipated second season.
